Martial Arts Star Sammo Hung: “I Miss Pho”

Hong Kong martial arts actor Sammo Hung said that upon arriving in Ho Chi Minh City, he immediately went to eat pho, a dish he once tried and never forgot.

On the morning of November 6, during a press briefing for the Hong Kong Film Gala in Ho Chi Minh City, Sammo Hung shared that he visited a pho restaurant to search for the flavor he remembered from restaurants in Australia and the United States, though he has yet to find one that perfectly suits his taste. He said he always looks for Vietnamese restaurants serving pho when traveling abroad.

Louis Koo, who joined him on the trip, said he is most impressed by Vietnamese bánh mì. The two actors are scheduled to meet industry partners and filmmakers to explore collaboration opportunities.

Sammo Hung stated that despite knee pain affecting his mobility, his mental health remains clear and he is satisfied with his career spanning more than 50 years. He noted that a major challenge for Hong Kong cinema today is shrinking production budgets.

The Hong Kong Film Gala is being held for the first time in Vietnam, under the theme “Together we dare to be powerful,” showcasing creative and diverse works from Hong Kong filmmakers.
